Sd. Karan Singh Sabharwal

Sri Guru Nanak Devji, founder of Sikhism, crossed geographical and political boundaries to spread the message of TRUTH. He travelled North, South, East and West for his mission, had dialogues with prominent contemporary clerics and collected the voice of truth emerging from all sources. Hymns of Kabir, Ravidas, Namdev, Farid, Jaidev and others have been compiled in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, rendering them universal.
Guru Nanak Devji came to Kashi, had a seat in a "bagh,” where he held a discourse with well-known religious person Chattur Das and made him aware of ritual-free worship of One Supreme Being. The place has come to be known as Gurubagh, and a gurudwara stands there to mark the historic event. His teachings are for all mankind. The Sikh philosophy rests upon the three pillars, namely Naam Japna, Kirt Karni and Vand Chhakna. He urged people to shun all dogmas, rituals, superstitions, gender inequalities and the caste system. He stressed the importance of universal brotherhood and service to mankind.
Our vision rests on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy of “TRUTH IS HIGH. HIGHER
IS TRUTHFUL LIVING.”
