Scout & Guides

Tagore House at Guru Nanak English School is named after Rabindranath Tagore, the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature for his renowned collection of poems, Gitanjali. He also composed the Indian national anthem, Jana Gana Mana, as well as the national anthem of Bangladesh, Amar Sonar Bangla. A prolific writer, Tagore created numerous poems, plays, essays, and short stories, exploring themes of spirituality, humanism, and India’s cultural identity. His enduring legacy continues to inspire generations, with his profound contributions shaping Indian culture, literature, and the independence movement.

Heritage Club

Bhagat House at Guru Nanak English School is named after Bhagat Singh, a prominent Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter renowned for his radical views and unwavering commitment to ending British colonial rule in India. Inspired by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the loss of his relative, Bhagat Singh joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) and became actively involved in revolutionary activities, leaving a lasting legacy in India’s struggle for independence.

Raman House at Guru Nanak English School is named after Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, an Indian physicist renowned for his discovery of the Raman Effect in 1928, which explained how light interacts with matter. This groundbreaking work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, making him the first Asian to receive this prestigious honor. Raman’s pioneering research on light scattering significantly advanced our understanding of the nature and properties of light. Performing Art Club

Netaji House at Guru Nanak English School is named after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a prominent Indian nationalist and freedom fighter, best known for his leadership in the struggle for India’s independence. He is particularly remembered for organizing the Indian National Army (INA) and seeking support from Axis powers during World War II to fight against British rule. His iconic slogan, “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom,” symbolizes his unwavering determination. Netaji’s legacy as a fearless leader and patriot continues to inspire millions, and he remains one of the most significant figures in India’s fight for independence.
